Working On The Witches Hammer
Back in 2004 REACT Films was fortunate enough to have the chance to work on the 35mm horror feature film 'The Witches Hammer', directed by James Eaves and produced by Laura Tennant. Initially involvement was that of providing runner and grip support during filming. It wasn't long before the role spread to include joining the camera crew working alongside Director of Photography John Ragget in camera operator and assist positions.

As the shoot continued we supplied vehicles, locations and motion picture camera equipment and provided support in set building and lighting. We also found time to work with the steadicam team, assisting in remote camera operation.

When the shoot ended the role expanded into post production, supplying special effects for selected shots. The goal was to supply high quality fx in a specified time frame to fit in with the unique world of 'The Witches Hammer'. Previous on-set experience and work with director James Eaves provided valuable insight into the style of fx that he would require to add the final touches to the movie.

Overall, working on 'The Witches Hammer' has been a rewarding experience and a privilege. We have helped and learned from a fantastic cast and crew working on a original and thrilling story made possible by James and Laura. Needless to say, we look forward to working with them again.
