In a small French town corruption is a foot, its victims the bohemians that find the town a haven form modern life. Cherie, a young anarchist, bohemian club owner discovers everything she values is under threat. The story follows her though the night as she attempts to get to the bottom of a murder and a twisted dark plot that lurks in the shadows of the towns streets.

A super 16mm feature film shot on location in France. Written and to be directed by Ross Wilson, Black Smoke at Midnight is currently in the pre-production phase with private funding already in place and public funding being sought.
